Obituary

Donald “Don” Trebes, 84 of Huntley, died peacefully, December 13, 2021, with his family by his side.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 5-7pm with a service held at 7pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Donald was born January 27, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois the son of Raymond and Catherine Trebes. On March 15, 1969, he married Jill Olesinski. He worked in manufacturing as an assembly manager.
He was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an enthusiastic reader and read everything from war stories, science fiction and outdoors magazines. Don was a great host and was know for hosting the best parties. Don was a gentle giant, soft spoken, big heart, very kind man. Family was core and always the most important thing to him. He was a loving husband, proud father and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Trebes, his son, Scott (Andreana) Trebes, his sisters, Alyce (Joe) Hilden, Carol (Phil) Zagone and brother Bruce (Alice) Trebes, by Jill’s family, John “Butch” Olesinski, by his new kittens, Sonny and Purrfect, by many nieces and nephews, and his wonderful friend and caregiver, Roman Kupka.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Eleanor "Sis" Welch, Cathy (Bob) Mancini and Jill’s siblings, Judy (Raymond) Schellhase, and Mark Olesinski, and Jill's sister-in-law, Virginia Olesinski.

Jill and Scotty, God has welcomed home a beautiful soul! Don was truly a Gentle Giant as well as a complete Gentleman! I have so many great memories of our weekly card games together ! So many crazy games and going to White Castle at 1am. He will be missed, but never forgotten! I love you both and please accept my sincere condolences. God Bless you!
