John F. Diebold, 80, of Huntley, died peacefully, December 15, 2021, with his family by his side.
John was born April 2, 1941, in Chicago, the son of Marcel and Marie Diebold. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On May 11, 1968, he married Janice I. Nance, the couple lived in Bartlett for over 20 years where they raised their children before retiring to Sun City, Huntley. He retired from Florsheim Shoes as the Director of Labor Relations. John was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching all sports but loved his Chicago Cubs and Bears most of all. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, and bocce. He and Janice enjoyed their winters in Marco Island. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, his daughters, Suzanne (Michael) Martin, and Renee (Timothy) Randell and by his grandchildren, Maggie Marie, and Nicholas John Randell.
John was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Robert, and Thomas.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home- 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.

I lived next door to the Diebolds on Cullom Ave. John and I played together with all of the other kids in the neighborhood. Many wonderful memories. So sorry to hear of his passing. The last time I saw John was at St. Ben's high school. My family moved to California in 1958 .
