Peggy Maxwell

Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Lee Maxwell, 71, died peacefully in her home on December 26, 2021, with her family at her side.
Peggy was born in Chicago on July 23, 1950, to parents Raymond and Jude (nee Englert) Ross. She married Kenneth Maxwell in 1970 and they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary earlier this year. Peggy had a passion for being around children. While raising her own, she still found time to interact with the kids on the school bus she drove. Later in life her career choice led her to her passion for hair, and opened up a beauty salon. She loved interacting with people, was completely devoted to her family, and adored spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved to laugh and was always joking around with her family and friends. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her mother, Jude Ross, her husband, Ken Maxwell, her children, Daniel (Morgan Haut) Maxwell, and Christopher (Megan) Maxwell, her grandchildren, Matthew, Haley, Mallory, Alexis, Autum, Cody, and Maddie, her great-grandchildren, Braydon and Shiloh, her siblings, Diannie (Chuck) Healy, Betsy (Tom) Hemmer, and Raymond (Carol) Ross, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 4 p.m. to time of prayer service 7 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Ken and Family, Sorry to hear about Peggy's passing. I always enjoyed her humor and her laughter . As kids we saw each other pretty often and I always enjoyed getting together. I'm glad we got together recently but sorry it wasn't more often. I will always have fond memories of one of my favorite cousins. Sorry I missed the service but I tested positive for covid and didn't want to pass it to anyone.
