Daniel Joseph Rubeck, 74, died peacefully in his home on Monday, December 27, 2021.
Daniel was born on January 8, 1947, in Oak Park to parents Joseph and Bernice (nee Gable) Rubeck. He loved to spend time outdoors fishing and boating, and he was a skilled golfer. His true passion in life was food and he had many of his favorite restaurants saved in his phone. Daniel loved to help others succeed in life and nothing brought him more joy than helping those around him. Everyone who met Daniel was instantly considered a friend. He was a good-hearted man who especially loved dogs and was passionate about rescuing Brittany Spaniels. Daniel will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie Rubeck, Melanie’s daughters, Kimberly (Murphy) Carroll, and Jodi (John) Pellikan, his grandchildren, Harrison, Colin, Caera, Charlie, Riley, and McKenna, and his siblings, Donna Zielenski, and David (Patti) Rubeck.
Visitation for Daniel will be Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 9 a.m. to time of prayer service 11 a.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Daniel's name can be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
