Gloria Anne Ryan, 80, of Lake in the Hills, formerly of Huntley, died on December 31, 2021, at Northwestern Huntley Hospital.
Gloria was born in Chicago on July 21, 1941, to parents John and Harriet (nee Pinkowski) Treider, Sr. On May 19, 1962, Gloria married Marshall Ryan and together they spent the next 56 years together before Marshall’s death on December 28, 2018. Gloria was an avid reader, she loved to garden, and especially loved making the holidays special. She loved St. Patrick’s Day and would often joke that she was Irish by marriage. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. Gloria was a caring and loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Gloria is survived by her children, Thomas (Denise) Ryan, Nancy (David) Babicz, Patrick (Anne) Ryan, and Mary Ryan, her grandchildren, Samuele, Rachael, Gabrielle, Ethan, Matthew, Kenneth, and Colin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marshall Ryan, and her siblings, Elaine Berquist, Constance Quinlan, and John Treider, Jr.
Visitation for Gloria will be Monday, January 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. to time of mass 10 a.m. all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Interment to follow mass at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N River Road, Des Plaines.
