Obituary

Nancy J. Salamon, 84, of Huntley, formerly of Hampshire, died peacefully, January 14, 2022, with her family by her side.
Nancy was born June 14, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley and Tessie Wanic. On October 6, 1963, she married Walter Salamon. She was a full-time homemaker and best Mother ever. She was devoted to her family and absolutely loved being a Mother and Grammy. Nancy enjoyed watching TV, Hallmark, Doris Day, the Chicago Cubs, and Lawrence Welk to name a few. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grammy, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Salamon, Michael Salamon, Bonnie Salamon and Kimberley (John) VandenBrook, by her grandchildren, David, Daniel, Holly and Aleksandria.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and her sister, Elaine.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Carmelite Sisters of Des Plaines.
