So very sorry about the loss of your husband. May you be comforted the God of all comfort. Jehovah promises to swallow up death, Isaiah 25:8. I met your husband at a wedding reception. We were seated at the same table. You both were a lovely couple yourselves and I never forgot him. Again may you & your family continue to be comforted. With deep respect

Dearest Newman Family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Ed was one of my positive contacts at WGN. We were there together for at least 25 years and our exchanges in the hallway, the lunchroom and at station gatherings were so wonderful. He had such a delightful sense of humor. He always made me laugh and lifted my spirits when life in the Newsroom was getting me down. What a wonderful soul he was. I'm so very sorry for your loss. With deepest sympathy and love, Tim Jackson, Retired Sr Newswriter, WGN-TV

Ed was one of the bright spots along with his wife Cathy in the Finance Department in our days together on Bradley Place, before some of us moved with Radio. He was a big part of what made us all friends, not just co-workers. Thanks for being a great friend...RIP until we all meet again at a heavenly poker game, bowling alley or racetrack. You were one of the best in The WGN Family!
