CAROL MARIE BUCCI, 91, of Hollywood, passed away February 14, 2022, Valentine's Day. Carol was predeceased by her husband of sixty-one years, Dante. She is survived by her children Michele Knaizer (Howard), Susan Condon, Patrice Langford (Robert), Laurene Bucci, Jodie Proschwitz (Kenneth), Michael (Mary), Mark (Shannon), Nicholas (Kellie); eighteen grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren (and one on the way).
Being a wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend defined Carol's 91 years. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother (GG). As a child the thing she wanted most was to be the mother of a large family. She met Dante and luckily he agreed. They both were from small families having only one brother and they loved their brothers dearly. They felt the best thing they could do for their children was to give them brothers and sisters to love. Their big family now is spread across eleven states and counting, but everyone's hearts all intersected wherever Mom/Grandma/GG was.
She loved all God's creations, especially flowers and animals. Her face would light up when they were near her. The newest addition to her pet family were two parrotlets (Tiki and Poppi). Their chirping was a joy for her, but her greatest joy was her dogs (Holly, grandmother of generations of shih tzus). She loved to garden and her lanai was filled with anything that could bloom, to the point you could barely walk through it.
The other constant for Carol was her faith in God and the Catholic church. She shared her faith through her actions and words her entire life. In the last few years she had started making hand-made rosaries. They were given to Emmaus retreatants, the sick on hospital visits, family and friends. So, her faith will live on through those physical emblems of her faith.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 20, 2022 at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle -451 W. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL, on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Carol's name to the Alzheimer's Association is appreciated.

We are sad for your loss but, rejoicing in her return "home" to our Lord and Savior. Please keep all of your memories close to your heart and treasure them. The memories will last forever! She was a fantastic person and we treasure our times with her. Keep the faith and trust in The Lord. Comfort one another, laugh, cry and remember. Hugs from us to all of you.
