Herbert H. Scheere, 93 of Huntley died peacefully on February 24, 2022 at his home with family by his side. Herbert was born in Elbersdorf, Germany on 2/18/1929 to parents Willi and Alma Scheere. He was living through challenging times and left his country in February of 1954 headed to Australia looking for work. After that he settled in Canada for some time as well and would travel back and forth to Germany in between. His journey finally took him to Chicago where he worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Fels Tool for 28 years. He was introduced to the love of his life Inge through mutual friends and they were married on 8/11/1973. During this time he also fulfilled his dream of being a business owner and together with his wife opened a European deli, Heinz Deli in Franklin Park,Il.
"Herbie" will always be remembered for his generous and kind heart. He was a man of few words but loved to share stories of all his experiences and travels throughout his life. His happiest moments were spent with his family. He was an extremely proud father and Opa and the twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes was evident when they were around. He will be greatly missed by all.
Herbert is survived by his children, Renee (Jim) Dickens, Walter Jung, and Melanie (Dave) Ressler and his grandchildren, Jackie (Dave), Andrew and Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and loving wife Inge that he so longed to be with.

I’m so sorry for your precious loss. My heartfelt condolences to you and Renee, and you family. Yes, Herbert was a quiet man but enjoyed being around people. Your mom was the best ever. We were a little group of German women that got together once a month or 2 month. We really loved talking about Germany and the way we grew up, cooked, cleaned and family. R.I.P.
