Obituary

Christine A. Van Durme, 77, of Gilberts, died peacefully, February 26, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 10am until Noon with a service being held at 11:00am all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Huntley Animal House Shelter.
Christine was born February 8, 1945, the daughter of Edward and Juanita Walinski. On May 2, 1964, she married Camiel VanDurme. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed, camping and canoe trips. Her and Camiel enjoyed traveling and took several cruises together. She loved all animals, especially her fur babies, sweet pea, Belle, and Mr. B. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Camiel, her children, Dwayne Van Durme, and Pamela Buford, by her grandchildren, Lacey Ann, Alley, Samantha, Nicholas, Hollie, and Jackson, by her great grandchildren, Isaac, Jennifer, Briella, and Lincoln. She is also survived by her siblings, Sandra (Richard) Masek, Tim (Lynn) Walinski, Mark (Mimi) Walinski, Keith (Trish) Walinski, Scott Walinski, Edward (Alice) Walinski, and Paula (Kris) Tosteurd.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents and by her daughter, Jennifer Butts.

I will miss the beautiful spirit that was Betty. We both enjoyed the laughter remembering in recent phone calls the happy memories we made together. God created many paths to his heavenly home and Betty is joyfully traveling one of them. Charles and Eric be comforted by the love your parents had for you.
