Obituary

Vera Jeanette Carroso, 87 of Huntley, died peacefully on April 17, 2022, at her son’s home in Lanark, Illinois.
Vera was born in Chicago on January 30, 1935, to parents Antonio and Lucia (nee Virzi) Rubino. She was very social and loved to spend time with her friends in Sun City playing cards and bingo. Vera was a fantastic Italian cook who loved to open her home and share her renowned lasagna with her loved ones.
She loved to read and was a devoted Catholic who was very involved with church. She was an incredibly caring mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Vera is survived by her children, Sam Caiafa, Anthony (Debra) Carroso, and Joseph Carroso, and her grandchildren, Joseph, Kevin (Madeline), Tony, Michael, and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Carlo Rubino, and Antoinette Gilardi.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 1 p.m. to time of mass 2 p.m. all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.

peace to you my friend. one of the original in this cul du sac. Meeting each other early on finding we went to same high school, you several years ahead of me I'Il miss seeing you across the driveway.

I was so sad when I heard the news; loved Vera. She and my husband Sal had the same traits; she use to say she was the female version of him. You will be missed, I had many laughs with you. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family.
