Richard Michael Bobby, Jr., 68, of Algonquin, died peacefully on May 4, 2022, at Alden Terrace in McHenry.
Rich was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 29, 1953, to parents Richard and Norma (nee Chance) Bobby Sr. Rich married his high school sweetheart Ruth Ridel on July 21, 1973, and the couple spent many happy years together. Rich was a devoted husband to Ruth and adored her more than anything else. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, as well as his siblings and many nieces and nephews. He loved technology, and always had to have the newest gadgets. He had an innovative mind and loved to create and invent. Rich was a compassionate and loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Rich is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Bobby, his children, Richard (Jaime) Bobby III, Michael Bobby, and James Bobby, his grandchildren, Mailynn, Wren, Logan, Isaac, and Kyler, his siblings, Susan Bobby, Patricia (Charles) Blake, Paul (Marisa) Mahon, Jr., and James (Lisa) Mahon, his father-in-law, Robert Thompson, Sr., Ruth’s siblings, David (Kathleen) Ridel, Tom (Theresa) Thompson, Darla (Greg) Santullo, and Robert (Diana) Thompson, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepfather, and his grandchildren, Mason Bobby, and Kylie Bobby.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 1 p.m. to time of memorial service at 3 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

My sincere condolences go out to Rich's family and friends. He was a great friend back in the day as part of the east hill gang. A lot of good times we had growing into adulthood. Haven't seen him many years but he will always be remembered when I think of my youth. Rest in Heaven my friend.
