Obituary

Armando Gonzales, 78, of Huntley, formerly of Schaumburg, died peacefully in his home on May 12, 2022.
Armando was born in the Philippines on February 5, 1944, to parents Nemencio and Arsenia (nee Matira) Gonzales. He married Alicia Araullo on April 25, 1970, and the couple spent the next 52 years together raising their family. Mandoy, as he was referred to by those who knew him, loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, singing and eating Alicia’s delicious meals. Armando was quiet, yet unexpectedly funny, bringing joy to those who knew him. Mandoy will be missed dearly.

Armando is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia Gonzales, his children, Arlene (Jonathan) Dela Cruz, Belinda Gonzales, and Alan (Carlie) Gonzales, his grandchildren, Jake, Joseph, and Ashton, and his sister-in-law, Angelita Abordo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Carmelita Valinton.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 4 p.m. to time of prayers 6:30 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10 a.m. with a visitation an hour prior, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
