Lila L. DeWitt, 92, of Huntley, died peacefully on May 31, 2022, at Northwestern Hospital in Huntley.
Lila was born in Chicago on September 26, 1929, to parents Julius and Emma (nee Mormelstein) Soling. She married Richard DeWitt and the couple was happily married until his death in 1994. Lila enjoyed spending time working on crossword puzzles, and she loved watching General Hospital and the Hallmark Channel. She was a feisty woman who loved to laugh and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Lila is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Randy) Kunkel, her sister, Joan Johnson, her two granddogs, Mikita and Staley, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeWitt, and her 8 siblings.
Cremation is private at DeFiore Funeral Home.
A private graveside service is being planned for Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.

I have such fond memories of Lila growing up down the street. She always had a smile on her face and made me feel at home when I visited her. God bless you Lila.
