Obituary

Saverio “Sam” Colletti, 82, of Huntley, died peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at JourneyCare Barrington.
Sam was born in Italy on January 25, 1940, to parents Francesco and Rosalia (nee Bosco) Colletti. He moved to the United States when he was 17. Sam enjoyed playing cards with his friends and playing Bocce Ball in Del Webb. He played the saxophone as a proud member of the Chicago Sicilian Marching Band, and the band played in Rome for Pope Paul II in 1986. He was a member of the Charismatic Prayer Group and the Cenacle Group at St. Mary Church in Huntley. He was a friendly, fun-loving man who spread joy everywhere he went.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Francsca Colletti, his daughters, Rosalia (Joe) Scherb, and Linda (John) Gray, his grandchildren, Alexandra, Jessica, Gabriella, and Isabella, his brothers, Russ Colletti, and Sal (Karen) Colletti, sister-in-law, Diana Colletti, his nephews, Frank and Joe, and his niece, Carla.
