Jeannie A. Richter, 96, of Elgin, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Bickford Senior Living in Crystal Lake.
She was born in Chicago on May 30, 1926, to parents Dometer and Agnes (nee Behof) Perusits. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School in Rogers Park in Chicago. She worked for the law firm of Finn & Fitzpatrick in Chicago, Colman School in Elgin, and Holy Trinity Church in Elgin. She and her husband Norman Sr. were married on May 22, 1948, and had nine beautiful children. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Huntley.
Jeannie is survived by her children, Norman Richter, Jr., Robert Richter, Susan Kuta, Karen Kolbaska, Kenneth Richter, Linda Schofield, and Mary Crandall, her 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Richter, Sr., her sons, Lawrence Richter and William Richter, her brother, Al Perusits, and her parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 9 a.m. to time of memorial mass 10 a.m. all at St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Association for Individual Development https://www.aidcares.org/
