George Raymond Dearing, Jr, 87, of Del Webb’s Sun City in Huntley, IL passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022, at home with his family by his side.
George was born in Chicago on October 6, 1934, to the late George Dearing, Sr., and Genevieve (nee Quinn) Dearing. He graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1952. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 134 and worked as an Electrician for 43 years. He was a long-time member of Grace Evangelical Free Church and was currently attending the Christ Community Church: Huntley Campus.
George loved God first and foremost followed by his precious family and friends. He could fix anything that was broken. He loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He played 16” Clincher softball well into his retired years. He also loved to bowl, go camping with his family and his laugh and love for life was contagious. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years and best friend, Gloria (Kiel) Dearing who he married on May 19, 1956. He is also survived by his children Gregory Dearing of Arlington Heights, IL, Sue (Dale) Kepner of Sandy Lake, PA and Glenn (Laura) Dearing of Whitehall, PA. Grandchildren include Heidi (Tyler) Davis, Heather (Pete) Bogan, Erin Dearing, Jason and Jeremy Dearing and Keith (Caroline) Kepner. Great -Grandchildren include Kade, Candace, Khloe, Caleb, and Kami.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by sisters Gloria Loser and Geraldine Ebert Brannen.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road in Huntley, IL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Friday, July 15, 2022, with a Funeral service immediately following at 12:00PM with Rev. Michael Hodge officiating.
Private interment will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, IL.

We are very sorry for your loss. George was a wonderful neighbor. Mia will miss her daily walks with him. He was always ready to help us with whatever had to be done. We will miss him very much.
We miss him and had great times the three of us, Bob, Pete and George sitting in the back yard. George always kept us laughing. He was a great friend. He will be in our thoughts and prayers.
