Judy Radz

Obituary

Judith Ann Radz, 82, of Huntley, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Northwestern Huntley Hospital.

Judy was born on February 17, 1940, in Morristown, New Jersey the daughter of John and Grace Rainforth. On June 3, 1961, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Michael "Mike" Radz in Buffalo, New York.

Judy has been described by family and friends as a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, friendly, caring person. She delighted in her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She bestowed her love and affection without qualification. Her greatest, and source of never ending joy, were her three children, nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great-grandson, Cooper Jacobs.

An avid sports fan, Judy hardly ever missed a volleyball, baseball or football game that involved her children and grandchildren. Regardless of the weather she would be there cheering them on from the stands!

Judy enjoyed traveling. She was particularly fond of Kauai and Hilton Head and also loved Maine, and North Carolina. The best times were when family or friends were able to join her and Mike in their travels.

She met her husband, Mike at Troy High School in Troy, New York. From their first date as high school sophomores until their marriage on June 3, 1961 they were virtually inseparable. This held true for their entire 61 plus years of marriage. Theirs was a truly remarkable love story!

Judy is survived by Mike, her loving husband, of 61 years, her son Gary (Nora) Radz, daughters, Lynn (Michael) Caccavallo, and Leslie (Mike) Tokarski, grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Lindsey and Ross Bernier, Alex, Brady and Mila Radz, Kailey and Brooke Tokarski, Step grandchildren Jessica Bernard and Brandon Caccavallo, and great grandson, Cooper Jacobs. Her brother, Douglas (Gerry) Rainforth of York, Maine, her two sisters, Margaret Rainforth of Maryville, Tennessee, and Victoria (Tom) Dempsey of Oak Island, North Carolina. And always in her heart was the littlest angel, Paulina Radz.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend of 63-plus years, Judy Rainforth Radz. We are blessed to have fond memories of Judy since meeting her when she was visiting Mike at Syracuse University. Judy has been a dear friend over the years and it is the memories of the many times we were able to spend together that we will cherish over the tomorrows ahead.

Cousin Mike, Gary, Lynn, Leslie, and Family, I am so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. Our Judy was always the most caring, compassionate, selfless, and thoughtful soul. She never missed a birthday nor an opportunity to make someone else feel loved and special. I have admired her for as long as I can remember. Judy deeply loved each of you, her family, with all of her heart. She was so very proud of every one of you and you brought her such joy! Her loving light shines on through you now. I am heartbroken to learn of your passing, Cousin Judy. Your wedding photo has a permanent place on my desk and in my heart. Always your “flower girl” for these 61 plus years…I will miss you forever and love you for always.
