Obituary

Rose Marie Baran Styslo, 90, died peacefully on June 23, 2022, in Surprise, Arizona.

Rose was born in Chicago on September 18, 1931, to parents Frank and Helen (nee Kwiatkowski) Baran.
Rose loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. She could often be found tending to her vegetable garden. She was skilled in sewing, and made many Halloween costumes for her niece and nephew. While she was single for most of her life, she found love with her next-door neighbor, Richard Styslo, and the couple was married when she was 70 years old. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and there was a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Ginger, who died just two days after Rose.

Rose is survived by her sister, Janet (Jerry) Krismer, her sister-in-law, Mary Raimondo, her niece and nephews, Thomas (Ericka) Baran, Debby (John) Thacker, and Robert (Cindy) Krismer, her great-nieces and great-nephew, Rebecca, Robyn, Brendan, and Sylvia, her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Robbie, Raeleigh, and Porter, with another on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Styslo, and her brother, Robert Baran

Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 9 a.m. to time of memorial mass 10 a.m. all at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 5900 West Barry Avenue. Chicago, IL 60634
Inurnment to follow mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Belmont and North Cumberland Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171.

I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of my backdoor neighbor. We use to chat for hours across the fence. She also kept me supplied with lemons from her tree. I also miss seeing Ginger in the back yard. I couldn't have asked for a better neighbor.
