Dennis R. O’Deen, 83, of Huntley, died peacefully, August 12, 2022
Dennis was born May12, 1939 the son of Ernest and Leeora O’Deen. On August 12, 1961, he married Barbara J. Krezan. He worked as a mechanic and went on to own and operate his own repair shop in Park Ridge for 37 years. He was also proud to have been a Park Ridge Police Officer. Early on he played the clarinet and was in the marching band in high school, later he went on to play the piano. He enjoyed cars, car shows and of course fixing cars. He was an avid golfer, poker player, photographer, and a huge Indy 500 fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Patricia (James) Marsden, Terry (Pam) O’Deen, Kathleen (Todd) Benedetto and Denise San Filippo and former son-in-law, Tony San Fillippo, by his seven grandchildren, Megan (Kevin), Leah, Richie, Max, Dennis, Elliott, and Caroline and by his two great grandchildren, James, and Maisie. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Jackie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 9-10am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley with a Funeral Mass being held at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association
