John "Jack" Leo McCann, 75, died peacefully on August 19, 2022, at JourneyCare Barrington.
Jack was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gilberts, and he was employed as an industrial engineer. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a sergeant and served in the Vietnam War before being honorable discharged in September of 1972.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia, his two sons, Christopher (Valerie) McCann and Kevin (Leticia) McCann, his two granddaughters, Violet, and Virginia, and his brother, Tom (Patricia) McCann.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy.
Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2022, from 9:30 to time of memorial mass at 10:30 a.m. all at St. Catherine Siena Church, 845 W Main St, West Dundee.
Military honors will follow mass.

Dearest Ginny and family, Brad and I are so sorry about Jack's passing. Jack was always kind to me and I fondly remember him helping me when I first joined the swim club. I've missed seeing him biking for so long. Brad always had nice conversations with Jack. We will keep him in our prayers, as well as you and you family.
