Michael Raymond Karlov, 75, of Lake in the Hills, died on Friday. September 2, 2022, at his home.
Michael was born in Chicago on November 22, 1946, to parents Martin and Lillian (nee Sweeney) Karlov. He married his childhood sweetheart Katherine Yesulis on February 6, 1965, and the couple celebrated their 57th anniversary earlier this year. Michael loved his wife unconditionally and would do anything for her. Together they created a beautiful family of four children, eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren! He adored spending time with his family and many get-togethers ended with everyone playing cards together. Michael was a proud member of the Medinah Temple for 10 years, and he loved spending time fishing, golfing, and cheering on Da Bears! He was a kindhearted and patient man who loved with his whole heart. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Karlov, his children, Cheryl (Robert) Passenheim, Michael Karlov, Martin Karlov, and Sandra (Paul Kennedy) Gagliano, his grandchildren, Bobby (Tara), Michael, Mark (Michaela), Jackie (Andrew), Andrew, Gina, Jennifer, Ryan, Morgan, and Brendan, his many great-grandchildren, his brother, Jack (Susan) Karlov, his sister, MaryKay Karlov, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Gagliano, his parents, and his siblings, Nancy Karlov, Steven (Nancy) Karlov, and David Karlov.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 12 p.m. to time of memorial service 3 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

There are no words for the legacy Uncle Mike has left on our family, his shining personality will live on in our hearts. Holding you all close in my thoughts and prayers.
