Shirland was born March 12, 1928 in Normal, Illinois the daughter of Sarah Baer-Crawford. She married Richard J. Groh in 1947.
She is survived by her Husband, Richard, her children, Chris (Tonia) Groh, Nancy (Arnold) Lamoso and Janet (Howard) Rosenbach and by her 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and by her sister-in-law, Emma Feierabend.
Shirland is preceded in death by her two daughters, Kathlene Porter and Carol Fitzpatrick and by her grandson, Dan Porter.
