James “Jim” Anthony Doheny, 83, of Huntley, died peacefully on September 16, 2022, in Huntley.
Jim was born in Chicago on May 25, 1939, to parents William and Josephine (nee Krzyminski) Doheny. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He married Joann Rzymek on September 28, 1962, and the couple spent many happy years together prior to her death on May 7, 2019. Jim was very social and loved to help those around him. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering around the house. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Jim Wicker) Doheny, and Laura (Alex) Lizasuain, his grandchildren, Alex, Jr., Samantha (Austyn), Matthew (Alexis), Sarah, Cecilia Ann, Natalie, Paula Rosa and Angelina, his great-grandson, Kane, with two more great-grandchildren on the way, and his brother, Ronald Doheny.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann, and by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 9 a.m. to time of mass 10 a.m. all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Interment to follow mass at St. Mary Cemetery.
