Obituary

Douglas Joseph Belpedio was born March 18, 1930, in Chicago to John and Dora (nee Marino) Belpedio.
He died Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Northwestern Huntley Hospital.

Douglas grew up in Chicago and went to Lane Tech High School. In 1951, at the age of 21 he enlisted in the Army and served in Korea for one and a half years. He was honorably discharged and came home. He later became a pressman for the Chicago Tribune and Sun Times.
When he retired, he and his wife, Ginny, decided on a different path and moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and spent 10 fun years before grandchildren pulled them back to Chicago where they spent the last 20 years enjoying their time in Sun City.

He is survived by Ginny, his wife of 41 years, his brother Bob (Joan) Belpedio, his daughter-in-law, Micki Belpedio, his grandchildren Katie (Matt) Schreiber, Dr. Drew Belpedio and his great grandchildren, Tommy, Fiona and Lily Schreiber.
He is also survived by his wife’s children Michael (Patti) Schlecht, Barbara (Jeff) Spiller and Matthew (Jessica) Schlecht and grandchildren Maddie, Gabby, Amber and Cameron Schlecht, Alyssa, Kyle, and Audrey Spiller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and Marino Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Belpedio, his brother Babe (Helen) Belpedio, his brother Ron (Barbara) Belpedio, his sister Yolanda (Jack) Barcal, and his sister Jeanine Miller.
