Gayle E. Uhlman, 77. Of Huntley, died peacefully, November 3, 2022.
Gayle was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bern and Edna Meurk. She was married to Robert (Bob) Richard Uhlman for 56 years. Gayle was a registered nurse and enjoyed helping others. She was a talented quilter and belonged to several different quilting clubs. From an early age she enjoyed family fishing trips to Canada which continued late into life. She also liked traveling around the country and became known as the family tour guide. Gayle and Bob settled in Schaumburg for more than thirty years where they raised their family. In 2004 she and Bob moved to Sun City where they were very active and made many friends over the years. Gayle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Uhlman, children, Gary (York) Uhlman and Nancy (Eric) Stopka, by her four grandchildren, Robert, Kaitlyn, Christopher, and Nathan and by her sister, Lynda (Edward) Koziatek and by her cousins, Buddy (Shirley) Eckert and Raymond Eckert.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of the 11:00am Memorial Service all at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church-10805 Main Street, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Heart Association, Quilts of Valor, or a charity of one’s choice.

We pray for your healing. Gayle had the spirit everyone should live by. Always there for everyone made her so dear. We certainly will miss her smile and laugh.
