As the oldest cousin of the family passes, I am saddened for the loss and the pain his family will suffer in missing him. However, I’m so happy to know that he is now joined with his wife and so many others who have gone faithfully before us. Ray was most certainly a devout and faithful man. I grew up calling him Uncle Ray, and continue to refer to him as uncle versus cousin, because I always looked up to and respected him. My faith is stronger because of his witness with his life and how he lived it. I love you Uncle Ray, and I will miss you and Auntie Ann, until the day comes when Christ will reunite us.

I only knew Ray for a short time but through his daughter, Shirley, I learned a lot about him, his love for his wife Ann and all the kids and grandkids. I know how sad Alzheimer's is and will pray for Ray and all the family and for an end to this evil disease. Ray and Ann will happily spend their time with the risen Lord in heaven!!

The picture that you posted of “Uncle Ray” brought back memories of a wonderful past. Thank you Raymie, Mary Ann, and Shirley. I remember visiting your family home often as a child - all good memories. My sympathy to your family on the losses that you have endured this year. I remember Ann’s beautiful smile and Ray’s laugh most of all.

As long time friends of the family, the loss of two good friends in such a short time is hard, but I'm sure much harder for all of you who have lost both parents so close together. But, I can't help but feel good about all the memories: Ray and my dad laughing and talking work stories, Ann as an wonderful hostess and excellent baker, and both with lots of smiles, laughter and hugs for whenever we visited. I have memories of our families getting together as kids, your parents and mine dressed up for those work parties, visits to the farm after we moved, and the smile the names "Ray and Ann" always brought to my face. Their positivity and kindness will always live in my heart and their faith filled life one to remember. My sympathies to your entire family as you grieve this loss.
