Edward R. Hayes, 82, of Huntley, died peacefully on November 5, 2022.
Edward was born in Chicago on August 22, 1940, to parents Edward and Mildred (nee Greenwood) Hayes. He married his high school sweetheart, Anna, on November 19, 1960. This year would have been their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Edward was the proud founder of Hayes Industries, and he was the president of PAMCANI.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Hayes, his sons, Chuck (Delphine) Hayes, and Pat (Karen) Hayes, his grandchildren, Erin (Jared) Cummings, Andy Hayes, Brooke Hayes, Nicholas Hayes, Logan Hayes, and Connor Hayes, his great-grandchildren, Leo and Micah, and his brother, Larry (Terri) Hayes.
Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 297 E Jefferson St, Hampshire.
Inurnment will be private.

Ed was one of the good guys. He was tough but he was good to his workers and friends. He will be truly missed
Ed was such a special person. Always so personable. I so enjoyed dancing with him every year at the Beautiful Christmas parties at Hayes. My deepest condolences to Anna, Chuck, Pat and family. Heaven definitely gained an angel.
