Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Loveisky, 83, of Huntley, passed away on Sunday November 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, one day before his 63rd wedding anniversary.
Chuck was born in Armstrong, Pennsylvania on February 4, 1939, to parents Charles and Rachel (nee Kenelly) Loveisky.
Chuck served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959 in Ft. Richardson Alaska. A few months after coming home while on a visit to his mother in the hospital, he met her red headed roommate, and the rest is their story.
Chuck had an entrepreneurial spirit and thought about going into business on his own, so in 1961 he borrowed $500 from General Finance (no bank loans) and bought his first engraving machine. Unique Engravers was started with Chuck still working a full-time job in the evenings while working from home during the day. He would soon branch out from sports trophies to do corporate awards and Unique Engravers became known as Unique Promotions and Awards. After moving to Hoffman Estates in 1967 and wanting to serve his community, he became a member of the Hoffman Estates Jaycees and worked on many projects before serving as President in 1972-1973. He ran for Village Trustee in 1973, and seeing a young growing town in need of parks he became involved with the Hoffman Estates Park District and served as Park District President in 1974-1975. Through the years he thrived on running Unique, growing it to become known as a go to business for corporate awards. He became a member of his National Trade Organization, gave seminars on various new products in the trade, and was honored with Retailer Volunteer of the Year in 1996. Even with all his volunteer work he was always a committed family man cheering at many baseball and soccer games.
After suffering a major stroke in 1995 and given a 10% chance of survival, he was left with his body paralyzed on his left side, but through many months of rehab he never gave up and did not let it stop him from living his life as best he could, including still playing golf but with one arm and being able to keep up with his friends.
Moving out to Sun City in 2000 he again became involved in the community and volunteered to work on the Finance Committee for Sun City and was very happy with all the wonderful friends and neighbors he has met there.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanine (nee Odendhal) Loveisky, and his children, Rick (Janice) Loveisky, Michael Loveisky, and Suzette White-Loveisky. He was the cherished Grandpa and Pape to his grandchildren, Sarah (fiancé Matt) Loveisky, Zack Loveisky, Stevie (Jackson) White-Pettus, Nicole White, Jake Loveisky, and Luke Loveisky. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley Schmit, and Michael (Denise) Loveisky. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who truly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Maryann (Wally) Schewtschenko, and Cathy (Jack) Miller, and his brother-in-law, Erwin Schmit.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 11 a.m. to time of service 4:30 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Jeanine and Family, on behalf of my father Wyman Carey I pass along our condolences. I just learned of Chuck's passing. I know you and my parents enjoyed a great friendship with so many amazing memories that were very special to them. Chuck and my dad shared a very special bond. I loved hearing stories of them both golfing together - one arm- and I think they had even more fun at lunch. May Chuck's memory be eternal. My prayers are with you. Amy Carey-Dejanovich
