At the age of 20 when I started working for Dominicks my uncle gave me advice that changed my life. I never forget his advice and I could never thank him enough for making my life as good as it could ever be. I will never forget you and love you till my time is up. Love you uncle Dom with all my heart

Dom was the blueprint for the American Dream. Started with just a high school diploma and a bagging job at a single independent grocery store. From there he built a wonderful loving family, a great career, and a wonderful environment for his family to grow and thrive. He was always nice and gracious to me and I will always remember him fondly.

I remember when I first met Mr. Scopa, a little short guy with powerful words. He treated us with dignity and never brow beat you in front of customers. I always had respect for him. I'm glad he got out before it got worse. He'll be missed,

I got to know Scop much better after I started working at corporate in May of 1979. Prior to that I had seen him occasionally when I was in the stores in different management positions. What I remember most about him was his warm and genuine smile and how friendly he was. There were no airs or pretenses about him, he was simply a very nice gentleman who cared deeply for the company and his employees. It's no wonder the company grew under men like him and Mr. D. I believe his greatest legacy is the affection and respect all the meat department and DFF employees have for him. May the good Lord welcome him home.

We remember our former VP of meat operations fondly, as he was kind and fair to everyone, by all accounts. Dominick’s Finer Foods was a better company for him having been a part of it. May he rest easy.

I worked with Scopa for many years but I never really knew him until we both retired and played Bocce together at Mezzina Verde. We always had fun teasing each other and I found him to be a caring and compassionate person. He always gave all the credit to his wife for raising 4 wonderful children, and on the business side, he gave all the credit to the people around him that helped make him successful. As far as I am concerned, he was an Awesome person and the backbone of the Dominick's organization. On a personal level, he was a good friend and a great person to be around. The world just lost a wonderful person and I hope someday we will meet again...of course, he will tease me as usual, but I wouldn't have it any other way...love you my old friend...Walk with God

Dom Scopa was one of the best Meat Operators I’ve ever known. He was “Tough but Fair”. I knew him for more than 40yrs. He was a mentor, a business associate, and most of all a friend. We stayed in touch long after we both retired from the food business. Scope, as knew him, was an important figure in my life. I will never forget him. May He Rest In Peace.
