Mary Jane Ruth, 79, of Huntley, died peacefully December 19, 2022.
Mary was born April 30, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Arkell. On June 27, 1964, she married Robert Ruth. The couple shared a life together devoted to each other and their family.
Mary was an awesome seamstress and amazing mother. While raising her children, she also managed to work from home. Mary and Bob enjoyed many trips to Vegas along with going on cruises. Mary was that person who never complained, always had a kind word, and had a heart of gold. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She was active in the Huntley Area Lions Club and St. Mary Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. There will be a visitation from 9-10am at Church before Mass. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.

You were always so gracious and kind to me at meetings of the Huntley Area Lions Club. It is so hard for me to believe that you are no longer with us. You and Bob were always so sweet and devoted to the goals of the Lions Club.
