Obituary

Kenneth H. Gniot, 88, 0f Huntley, died peacefully at his home on December 22, 2022, with his family by his side.
Ken was born May 24, 1934, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of George and Erna Gniot. He proudly served in the United States Navy. On May 24, 1958, he married Evelyn Hellweg. Starting off working with his father and then for several carpet manufacturers he eventually started his own business named Futures Flooring. This company developed into a family business. Ken enjoyed fishing, golfing, and a good game of poker. He was a charter member of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church and most recently was instrumental in the building of the new sanctuary. He was a loving husband, father, Grandpa, Opie and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Sun City Railroad Club as well as a Woodchuck. Ken was kind, hard working and did everything with integrity.
He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Evelyn, his children, Karen (Lee) Gollhardt and Thomas Gniot, by his three grandchildren, Adria, Alexander, and Alane, his great grandchildren, Josephine, Juliet, Charlotte, Emelia, and Ivy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 10am until the time of the 11am Memorial Service at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church-10805 Main Street, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church.

Ken was very hard working, peaceful, quiet and a humble man of integrity. I will certainly miss him and his smile.
