I have 9 natural uncles. Butch is the first to pass. If they were a baseball team then Butch was the pitcher. There is nobody in the bullpen that can replace him. He was unique, a one of a kind, a leader of fun. His dynamic wit created so many memories. He was a mentor for how you should live your life. He always made people feel safe, close, and important. As much as I miss him, the loss has to be so much more for Kathy, Jeanie, Julie and the immediate family. I hurt for their pain but I'm jealous that they got the lion's share of one of the greats, and proud to be his nephew. Jerry

My heart hurts and heres why, Uncle Butch was one of a kind, and will be missed greatly. He always managed to bring the GOOD out of every day. He loved his family and friends and would do "crazy" to prove it. Just his smile was enough for me. Uncle Butch I'll miss you. PATTY

I'd like to share some of my memories about my Brother, who some called him George or Butch, but we called each other My Brother. As a young boy he would get mad at me for wearing his Cubs baseball jersey, he was in the Little League & I wanted to be like him. When it was my time to play in the Little League I was nervous about how fast the ball would be coming at me, Butch comforted me by reminding me that it would be no different than when I played ball with my friends on the playground. He was looking out for me & I didn't realize it for the longest time, When I returned to Chicago from California he said their was a job opening at Pepsi and he helped me to get hired. Some of the greatest times of my life were there working together in Office Services, I worked with my brother being my boss. He was the greatest boss ever, we would have to deliver the mail & office supplies to many locations, In the car he would ask me to come up with 5 to10 words along the trip, he would then create different stories & jokes, he never let me down, we laughed our heads off. One time we had to deliver an important package from the president Of Pepsi Cola to the executives at IC industries, it was very urgent to have this package delivered on time for their meeting, we were running late and in a hurry to deliver on time, traffic was bumper to bumper & moving very slowly, we found out there was a Parade Down Town that day at the same time we were. We thought we could still deliver on time. but no... a marching band was blocking our way, the band had a big Tuba Player that was lagging behind in the front of us, so Butch's humor took over, he started singing..." I would like to grab your face, rub it with a rasp, stick a stick of dynamite up your A_ _, because I hate you". after all that we got the delivery on Time! There are so many stories I cant remember them all, I really wish me & my family would have been more involved with everyone. But Life Happened. I had numerous health problems, My wife says I am like Norm Crosby the comedian, he would try to say one thing and it would come out wrong, That is what Lynda has been helping me with for 31 years this month We have been married 44 years. my brother was my best man, Lynda's sister Denise was maid of honor, my grooms men included Dennis, Ernie & my favorite nephew Jerry. brides maids Jo Gail, Pat & Vickie... Along with saying the wrong things at the wrong time, I have a bad habit of being in denial and acknowledging I have a hippo campus problem, so I just laugh & make It a joke, We believe God has blessed us with a wonderful life & fantastic people throughout our journey, now we're looking forward to a New Year with New beginnings for All. I know my brother Butch is celebrated in Heaven with all our family & friends, I also believe he has his own comedy stand up show right now as we speak. Lynda said of all the Look-A-Likes she has worked with over the years, she never saw one as good as Butch performing... Willie Nelson & Julio Iglesias... "To All the Girls I've Loved Before." Just like Bob Hope says Thanks For The Memories Butch!!! do us all a favor. Laugh out loud in Heaven My Brother, so we all can hear you. We all love & will remember you, we also miss & love family very much!!!

Dear Kathy, I am so very sorry. My deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you. I feel blessed to have known George… his sense of humor, his kindness and just that certain something that can’t be explained.

I was a new hire at Pepsi and George scared the heck out of me at first. I soon learned this was a defense tactic he employed so that people wanting new pens, staples, paper clips "right now" would be more reasonable in their demands. Loved George and Kathy in 1991 and still love them 33 years later. Kathy, we have to brush up on 3 handed pinocle.

The memories growing up on Ridgeway with all my cousins are always with me. I wish circumstances throughout life would have kept us closer for visits. I know you will be a special Guardian Angel looking down on your family. Kathy, my prayers and thoughts are with you always.
