Thomas Prims

Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Joseph Prims, 75, of Huntley, formerly of West Dundee, died peacefully in his home on January 19, 2023.
Tom was born in Evanston on February 10, 1947, to parents Mathias and Margaret (nee Shanachan) Prims. After meeting in 5th grade, Tom married his childhood sweetheart, Linda Coulter Duffy, on July 3, 1965. Tom was the ultimate family man, he loved spending time with his wife and their daughter Kim.
He was a selfless provider who worked hard and enjoyed his home improvement projects. He loved to laugh and joke with everyone and while he was softspoken, everyone listened when he had something to say.
Tom didn't have hobbies but he did love fishing when he made the time. He loved most of all going to the soccer games of his four grandchildren from the time they were very young right through their college years. He was so proud of all their accomplishments.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Prims, his daughter, Kim (Michael) Ruffner, his grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Presley, and Peyton, his cousin, Shelly (Thomas) Thorsell, and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Margaret (Larry) Cox.

Uncle Tom was always so cool and collected. He was the epitome of chivalry. Seeing his love for his sweetheart and his family was inspirational. May you all heal in love as he returns home. His bonus time on this earth was nothing short of a show of his strength, courage and love for his family. Not only was Uncle Tom was a positive role model, but your marriage was heartening to others. Aunt Linda and Kim, our hearts and prayers are with you always. We love you!
