Wesley Anderson

Obituary

Wesley Lawrence Anderson, age 80, of Huntley, went to be with his Savior on January 20, 2023.
Wes was born in Chicago on January 29, 1942, to parents Franklin and Mabel Anderson. He married Janice Bason on September 12, 1964, after meeting on a blind date. Wes graduated from Northwestern University with a Chemical Engineering degree and then received his MBA from the University of Chicago. His first career of 28 years was in the chemical coating industry, including serving as President of DeSoto, Inc. and he was a member of four corporate boards in the U.S. and overseas. For the next 13 years, Wes faithfully worked at Trinity International University beginning as Director of the Bookstore and retiring as CAO and CFO. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and his six grandchildren and two great granddaughters always brought him much joy. He also enjoyed serving in church ministries, traveling, building dollhouses, stamp collecting, golfing, fishing, and watching sports. He was thrilled to be able to go to a Cubs World Series game. But the most important thing in his life was his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Wes is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jan Anderson, his children, Tim (Candy) Anderson, Dawn (John) Syverson, and Gwen (Steve) Carlson, his grandchildren, Kyle (Nicole) Anderson, Mark Syverson, Trent (Baleigh) Anderson, Nicole Syverson, Dillon Carlson, and Katelyn Carlson, and his great-grandchildren, Chloe and Emma Claire.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Anderson.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to time of memorial service 12 noon, all at Fox Valley Church, 37W073 Huntley Road, Dundee.
In leu of flowers, memorials in Wes’s name can be made to the Fox Valley Church Light for the Future Campaign, or to Trinity International University Scholarship Fund, an organization Wes felt passionate about.
