Linda J. Campbell, 75, of Huntley, Illinois, died peacefully on February 12, 2023, with her family by her side. Linda was born on February 28, 1947, in Dubuque, IA. She was the daughter of Raymond and Elaine Hird. On August 17, 1968, she married Donald “Chip” Campbell. Linda and Chip loved dancing together and taking trips in Chip’s red Corvette. She was a social butterfly, loved golfing, running, and was an amazing baker. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her friends, antiquing, and going to estate sales. Linda was a huge sports fan; she especially enjoyed Big 10 Basketball. It was fitting that she passed away on Super Bowl Sunday. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Chip Campbell; her daughters, Tara (Brian) Norris and Laura (Jason) Fisk; her grandchildren, Tatum, Audrey, Delia, Jonas, and Ezra; and by her sister, Jane (Bill) English. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Mark Hird.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at which time the service will begin. The service will be held at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main Street, Huntley, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

I’m so very sorry to learn of Linda’s death. She brought so much joy to both Dick and I during our years at Platteville. Chip, do you remember that she was an attendant at our wedding? Want you to know too that Dick died on August 15, 2021.
