Stephen W. Morrissey, 77 of Huntley, died peacefully June 26, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus.
Steve was born April 20, 1936 in Albia, Iowa the son of Walter and Colette (Riordan) Morrissey. Steve served in the United States Army. On October 29, 1971 he married Lois Gundelach. He worked as a Senior Systems Anaylst. Steve was a boy scout leader for 10 years in Two Rivers Council. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He and Lois enjoyed RV traveling. Steve was also a former Sun City Lion and enjoyed making stain glass and his Chicago Bears. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a humble man of God.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, his son, William (Deena Kiefer) Morrissey and by his grandchildren, Caitlyn and Morgan and a baby expected in November. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas (Diane) Morrissey. He is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn (Duane) Yetter.
