Obituary

Edna R. Fairbanks, 69, of Crystal Lake, died peacefully on February 28, 2023.
Edna was born September 4, 1953, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Domiciano Rivera and Maria San Diego. On January 19, 1984, she married Logan Fairbanks. Edna worked as a dedicated and caring Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN / LVN) for 35 years. She loved and put her whole heart into caring for others. Edna easily made friends with her patients and coworkers. She did not know how to decline covering for another shift when asked. Edna was a fantastic wife and mother who was so proud of all her children. Edna was faithful Roman Catholic believer, she was also an avid and passionate gardener who loved spending hours in her yard; it really brought her so much joy.
She is survived by her husband, Logan, her children, Christina (Norman) Pinpin, Matthew (Robin) Fairbanks, and Nathan Fairbanks, as well as her sisters, Ofelia Quiday, Edwinia Ison, and brother, Ernesto Rivera. She is also survived by her mother, Maria San Diego Rivera, and preceded in death by her father, Domiciano Rivera.
Edna was such a loving wife, mother, sister, coworker, and friend who will be so deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton Church- 1023 McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake.
Flowers are welcome, white preferred. Memorials can also be sent to World Vision or Children International; another of Edna’s passions.

Edna, will be greatly missed by all the residents whom she cared for at Crystal Pines. She was such a caring and loving nurse.

Rest in Peace Edna! I have so many fond memories of working with her. It was always a joy working with Edna. She would give me money to go buy us coffee when we worked together. She was a hard worker and loved what she did. I will miss you so much Edna.
