Elmer R. Hook, 83, of Huntley, formerly of Huntington, Indiana and Hanover Park, died peacefully on March 16, 2023.
Elmer was born in Nashville, Arkansas on December 2, 1939. After meeting at work, Elmer married Joyce Grafstrom on July 21, 1962, and together the couple raised their daughter, Allison.
Elmer enjoyed working with his hands and was exceptionally skilled. He crafted many RC sailboats, and even built his own telescope. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing vegetables. Elmer especially enjoyed being on the water and was a proud member of the Northwest Sailing Association. He was a soft-spoken and caring man who wanted the best for everyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Elmer is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joyce Hook, his daughter, Allison (Ron) Wehrs, and his granddaughters, Amy (fiancé Alex Corcoran) Wehrs, and Kara (fiancé Adam Zurawski) Wehrs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Joyce (Don) Philippi.
