Victor Nicholas Jason, 81, of Huntley, died peacefully, April 11, 2023, with his family by his side.
Victor was born August 9, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stanley and Angelina Jasinski (Jason). In 1962 he married Barbara Lee Carney. He worked as a Chicago Fireman and later went on to own and operate Floyd’s Restaurant in Carpentersville for over twenty years. Victor never met a stranger – he always enjoyed being with people. He was hardworking, dedicated, and a devote Catholic. He served on the Carpentersville Police and Fire Commission, volunteered his time to the church, and was involved in many local community organizations. In retirement he continued to stay active and cherished fishing trips with his sons and grandsons to Honeymoon Island in Canada. He also enjoyed traveling the open road with his wife and dog in his RV. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Susan (John) DeGuide, Pamela Johnson, and Brian (Erin) Jason; his grandchildren, Chris, Ali, Alyssa, Andy, Stephen, Parker, and Riley; and by his beloved dog, Caaasper. Vic is also survived by his brother, Nick (Sherri) Jason, sister-in-law Barb “Lulu” Jason, and a host of nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Sonny.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, Barbara, and brother, Richard Jason.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 17, from 11am until 1pm at DeFiore Funeral Home – 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 1pm at St. Mary Catholic Church – 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Vic will stay in my memories for always . We grew up together and as life takes over roads get traveled in different directions. Have visited a few times at Floyds ,smiled many times during our visit talking about growing up. Sitting and smiling down on the family he was so proud of. Hope he had no suffering ,he was a man you can depend on when given his promise. Tears are shedded with the thought a vist will never happen .
