Obituary

Phyllis M. Dorsch, 84, of Algonquin, died peacefully on April 11, 2023, with family by her side.

Phyllis was born in Chicago on February 2, 1939, to parents Leonard and Frances (nee Lippert). Phyllis married Daniel Dorsch on June 13, 1959, and were married 60 years before Daniel’s death in 2019. Phyllis was a strong woman who loved and cared for her family. She loved to travel, especially to West Palm Beach, her home away from home. She had a strong faith and was a long-time member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crystal Lake. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Mike) Burns and Lori (Tom) Hoeft, and her grandchildren, Lauren (Wade) Weaver, Daniel (fiancé Lauren Tuit) Niemi, Michael (Angie) Burns, Matthew Niemi, Mark (Emma) Burns, Matthew (Killian) Hoeft, and Marcia (Jeremiah) Hale and by her 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Dorsch.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to time of prayer service 6:30 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Avenue, Crystal Lake.
Entombment to follow mass at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phyllis’ name can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton St. Vincent DePaul Society.
