Dolores Wolpoff

Obituary

Dolores Wolpoff, 91, of Huntley, Illinois, died on Wednesday , April 26, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Dolores was born on January 5, 1932, in Nokomis, Illinois, to Walter and Katherine (nee Komac) Michalowski. Dolores had a joyful childhood growing up on a farm. She had fond memories attending elementary school at Saint Louis Catholic School and continued to support them throughout her life.
Upon graduation from high school, Dolores worked in a mailroom. Here, she made lifelong friends with whom she traveled and shared adventures, such as a trip to Cuba, skiing, and even working on a dude ranch.
Dolores met Leonard Wolpoff, her future husband, at work. She and Len were married for 35 years and raised 3 children in Des Plaines, Illinois. She cherished relationships with family and friends that spanned her lifetime. One of her great joys was hosting a large Thanksgiving gathering every year.
Years later, Dolores moved to Huntley, Illinois, where she continued to enjoy an active and adventurous life. She traveled extensively with friends, hosted family holidays, and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her loved ones.

Dolores is survived by her children Traycee (Thomas) Simon, Cynthia (Roger) Hayes, and Gregg (Victoria) Wolpoff; her grandchildren Dana Hayes, Theresa Simon, Erin Hayes, Jacob Simon, Mark Wolpoff, Matthew Wolpoff, and Mason Wolpoff; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard; her parents; her siblings Walter, Margaret, Grace, and Marion; and her grandson James Louis.
