Marianne R. Csanda

Obituary

Marianne R. Csanda, 93, of Huntley, died peacefully April 24, 2023.
Marianne Rose Takats was born June 13, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Margaret and Julius Takats. When she was in first grade, her family moved to Muskegon, Michigan where she grew up as the youngest of seven brothers and sisters who nicknamed her “Cookie”.
On November 23, 1950, she married Richard F. Csanda, just prior to his joining the US Army. Upon completion of his service in Korea, they moved to the northwest side of Chicago where they raised their three sons. Cookie and Rich enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and training and breeding English Springer Spaniels. They loved time with friends and family, especially weekends and summers at Lauderdale Lakes in Wisconsin, carrying on their Hungarian family traditions and taking advantage of any reason to gather the Csanda family together. Upon retirement, they relocated from Chicago to remodel and live in the family cottage on Lauderdale for twelve wonderful years.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her six Takats siblings, Betty, Margie, Theresa, Irene, Gene, Julius and their spouses.
Since Rich’s passing, Marianne has been a part of the Del Webb Community for 15 years, a place where she cherished her home and was always social, from drinks on the driveway to visiting with neighbors, taking casino trips, playing cards and going to lunch with the girls. Marianne spent her winters in Destin, Florida and enjoyed her friendships very much. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Marianne is survived by her three sons, Scott (Sue) Csanda, Mark (Carol) Csanda, and Dave (Liz) Csanda; by her grandchildren, Dillon Csanda, Dakota (Hannah) Csanda, Abigail (Hayden) Prescott, and Jenny (Jim) Ernster; and her great grandchildren Isaac, Beatrix, Cassie, Grace, Jessie and Alayna. She is also fondly remembered by 24 nieces and nephews throughout Michigan and Illinois as “Aunt Cookie”.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 10am until the time of the 11am Funeral Service at DeFiore Funeral Home- 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois. For further information please call the funeral home at 847-515-8772 or online condolences may be directed to www.defiorefuneral.com
