Cathi "Catie" Jiran, 74, of Huntley, was called home by the good lord peacefully on May 14, 2023, in Huntley.
Catie was born in Chicago on December 12, 1948, to parents Edward and Helen (nee Kucha) Liput. She married James "Jimmie" Jiran on January 7, 1978, and the couple has been happily married ever since.
Catie enjoyed baking and her artistic mind was always happy when she was crafting. She loved all of the holidays and every room in her home was always decorated top to bottom. Catie had a tender and loving heart, and she was especially compassionate to animals. She was a sincere and honest woman, and her kindness and unique flair for her personal fashion will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Catie is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jimmie Jiran, two nieces and two nephews, and many who called Catie "Auntie", which she loved hearing from them.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Cathi's life and visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 1 p.m. to time of prayers at 4 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

I am so sad at learning about Catie's passing, Jim. We had so much fun years ago going from resell shops to bragging about our finds.

We will miss her along with her crafty work which stand as a reminder to take time and relish in our good fortune. Stay positive, this is how she would want it. God Bless Catie!
