Raymond M. Astrowski, 86, of Huntley, died peacefully, May 17, 2023, with his family by his side.
Raymond was born May 29, 1936, in Chicago, the son of Charles and Estelle Astrowski. On June 28, 1958, he married the love of his life Patricia Taylor. He proudly served in the United States Marines. He worked as an engineer for the FAA. He was a golfer, a reader and was a small aircraft pilot. He and Pat traveled to many places in their RV. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, White Sox fan along with the Chicago Blackhawks. Most of all he was a devoted loving family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia, his children, Gail (Steve) Marik, John Astrowski, Lynn Stivanson, Beth Astrowski (Tim Selan), Christine (Nick) Gravina, Paul (Cheryl) Astrowski, Julie Viverito and Matthew (Melissa) Astrowski, by his nine grandchildren, Dustin, Ryan, Stephanie B., Stephanie G., Bobby, Michael, Randy, Nicholas, and Taylor and by his six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia (John) Alyinovich.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Patsy.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 3-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 22, 2023, 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. The burial will be in Huntley Cemetery.
