Barbara “Bobbie” Dorothea O’Toole, 79, of Huntley, formerly of Hoffman Estates, died peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in Elgin.

Bobbie was born in Newark, New Jersey on March 6, 1944, to parents Robert and Llaine (nee Geissele) Hundley. After meeting at Charlie Brown’s in the Pan Am building in Manhattan, she married James C. O’Toole on October 17, 1970, and the couple spent many happy years together. She was a loving wife, and a beloved mother and role model to her two daughters. She retired from Motorola as a Sr. Purchasing Agent in 2006 and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was an active golfer, taking part in both the Bridge Club and Golf Club in Sun City. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Bobbie is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, James O’Toole, her daughters, Tracy (Fred) Biederstadt, and Megan O’Toole-Puckett, her grandchildren, Derek Biederstadt, and Jesse Puckett, and her siblings, Jane (Joseph) Ossou, Paul (Jan) Hundley, Tim (Gay) Hundley and Cindy (Koert) VanderVoort.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Hundley, and her sister, Susan (Ray) Owens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 4 p.m. to time of prayers 6:30 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Mass will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
