Robert Raymond Reuter, 87, of Huntley, died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 4, 2023.
Bob was born March 3, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Harold and Florence. On January 31, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary McAndrews Bob worked in sales and marketing in the bakery industry for his entire career. After raising their family in Schaumburg, he and Mary moved to Sun City and they both became active in a community they love, developing many wonderful friendships. Bob was a member of the Sun City Theatre Troupe, past president of the Grandma and Grandpa Club and the Celtic Club. He was an avid fisherman and a World War II history enthusiast. Bob and Mary spent many years traveling together, with family, and friends. He was devoted to his faith and a dedicated servant of his church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary, and by his children, Rob (Diane) Reuter, Sandy (Rich) Kraus, Mary Beth Reuter, and Debbie Nowotnik, by his grandchildren, Brad, David, Tara, Ryan, Sky, Lindsey, Mackenzie and Megan, and by his great granddaughter, Josie. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Hansen, and brother, Wayne Reuter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 9:00 am until the time of the 10:00 am Mass at St. Mary Church at 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be private at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
