To the Vistine Family - So very, very sorry to hear that John has died at the age of 97 At the same time ,so proud of what he accomplished and the life he lived as part of “The Greatest Generation” - I don't think that was an overstatement. Whenever he was around he was ever the gentleman, had a slightly mischievous sense of humor, and would often ask about others rather then discuss his own challenges whatever they may have been. Most of all I can say, to Sharon whom I know the best, John raised you and your family well, and the practice of teaching and caring for others well-being is a to this very day a living legacy to your dad. Through you and on down through your kids. Blessings to you all. None of these words can make the wounds disappear or the sorrow less sorrowful....and they are not meant to.....because the greater the wound, the more witness to who he was and what you will miss being on this earth without him. But instead, the words are here to encourage you that we ALL saw what he was, and who he was, and not just your family. We saw him and we will miss him too! With affection and care - Stephen Kaufman
