Obituary

Rita Jane Wyatt, age 95, of East Dundee, Illinois, passed away in her home surrounded by her children's love, on Tuesday July 11, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church -10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Follow the Mass there will a reception celebrating Rita's life in the Parish Hall at St. Mary's . In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls www.mercyhome.org or St. Jude Children Research Hospital www.stjude.org.

Rita was born in Wisconsin and graduated from Augustana Nursing School in Chicago, Illinois. In Chicago she met and married her one true love George Wyatt. They were married for almost 72 years. She was the beloved matriarch of a loving, extended family. Rita was a master gardener, a skilled quilter, a wonderful chef and an avid card player. She enjoyed nothing more that hosting large family meals. A proud mother of six, Rita used her extensive skills volunteering in organizations such as Questers, Long Grove Historical Society, Long Grove Garden Club, Mt. Prospect Nurses Club, and various other civic and church organizations.

She is survived by her children, Michael and wife Robin, Mary, Lynn, Daniel and wife Fonda, and Colleen, her 11 grandchildren, her 16 great grandchildren, and her in laws James, Robert and wife Marie, Donald and wife Mary, and sister-in-law Nancy.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband George, their beloved second son Richard, daughter-in-law Susan, parents Gladys and Rulo Clark, and brother and sister-in-law Rulo Jr. and Ruth Clark.
