Vanda Pralle

Obituary

In Loving Memory of Vanda Pralle

Vanda Pralle, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully embarked on her eternal journey on Sunday, July 16, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and laughter.

Vanda was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on December 22, 1935, to parents John and Mary (nee Juntz) Roenitz.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in May, 1958, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. Vanda was a huge Badger fan. She wore her favorite Badger sweatshirt everywhere and loved to watch Bucky play football and basketball.
Vanda's life was enriched by her three children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
One of her greatest joys was having family gather around her table to share drinks and meals and creating lasting memories. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Some of the family's fondest memories include dinner at Grandma V's. Vanda adored her grandchildren and they each held a special place in her heart. Watching them play sports, perform in recitals, graduate from college, get married and continue their individual journeys filled her heart with pride and joy.
Each year, Vanda and Steph would take their annual road trip to Florida for some much-needed sun. Steph always cherished the hours shared with mom in the car and on the beach.
Vanda's sense of humor and infectious laughter touched the lives of all who knew her. She enjoyed the Vagabond Club, her friends in Bridge Club, and making her famous Dill Pickles for the Cheery Cherry Fall Fair. For years, she attended a women's Bible Study where she grew in her faith in Jesus and His promise of a life everlasting.

As we bid farewell to Vanda, we celebrate a life well-lived and the impact she had on her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but her love and memories will live on in our hearts forever.

Vanda is survived by her children, Stephani (Nick) Bonich, Donald (Susan) Pralle, and John (Kristy) Pralle, her grandchildren, Madison (Shayne) Paykel, Hailey (Matthew) Cheaney, Nicholas Bonich, Stephen (Hanna) Pralle, Mitchell Pralle, and Olivia Pralle, her great-grandchild, Edison, her brother Bill (Paula) Roenitz, and her children’s father, Stephen (Kathi) Pralle.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Genie (George) Aroyan.

In classic Vanda fashion, she didn't want to be memorialized with a formal funeral service. Rather, she asked that her immediate family gather together to celebrate her by sharing stories, love, laughter, food and to raise a whiskey Manhattan (with olives) in her honor.

May she rest in eternal peace with God the Father, and may her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

We had the pleasure of knowing Vanda. She was elegant and articulate with a great sense of humor. She was beautiful inside and out. It was very apparent in conversations with her the love of her family. She share a special bond with her only daughter, Steph. We heard about Their many trips and adventures. Her legacy will continue through the admirable Foundation she gave her children. May God keep her in his care and our love to all her children and their families.

Vanda was a great friend to my mom, Nancy Pyeatt. They had a great circle of friends and formed the infamous Bridge Club. I think they played Bridge, but mostly I remember the laughter being generated when they all gathered. She was always one of my favorites! Much love, peace and grave to the family.
